Linking Credit Card to UPI

Linking your RuPay card to any UPI app is a simple, digital 3-step process. Here is how to activate it:

Step 1: Open Your App Open GPay, PhonePe, Paytm, or BHIM. Go to your profile settings and click on "Link Credit Card" or "Link Account".
Step 2: Select Card Bureau & Bank Select your card-issuing bank. The application will search for active RuPay credit cards registered with your mobile number.
Step 3: Setup UPI PIN Enter the last 6 digits of your credit card and expiry date, verify the OTP, and set up a secure 4 or 6-digit UPI PIN. You are ready to scan and pay!

Can I link a Visa or Mastercard credit card to UPI?

Currently, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) only permits **RuPay credit cards** to be linked to UPI apps for merchant payments. Standard Visa and Mastercard credit cards cannot be linked to UPI platforms yet.

Are there transaction limits for RuPay credit card UPI payments?

Yes, standard UPI transaction limits apply (usually capped at ₹1 Lakh per day). Additionally, transaction approvals are subject to your available credit card limit.

Can I transfer money to my friend's UPI account using a RuPay credit card?

No. RuPay credit card UPI integrations are strictly meant for **merchant payments (P2M)**. You cannot transfer credit card balances to individual peer-to-peer (P2P) accounts, bank accounts, or personal UPI IDs.
